Please read these Terms of Use (“Terms”) carefully before using the Notana browser extension (“Service”).

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Notana, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, you do not have permission to use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Notana is a browser extension designed to help artists analyse reference images. The Service provides tools for value analysis, shape breakdown, composition checking, colour harmony analysis, and edge detection.

All image processing occurs locally in your browser. Your images are not uploaded to our servers.

3. Account Registration

To access certain features, you must register for an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information.
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials.
  • Promptly update your account information as needed.
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Subscription Features

Cloud sync and backup features require an active subscription. Core image processing features remain free.

Billing

  • If you choose to have a subscription, subscriptions will be billed either yearly or monthly through Stripe, at the discretion of the creators of Notana.
  • Your subscription will automatically renew unless canceled.
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time through the Profile tab.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled on a case‑by‑case basis. To request assistance, submit Feedback on the form in the About → Feedback tab and select Other.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service.
  • Reverse engineer or decompile any part of the Service.
  • Share your account credentials with others.
  • Use the Service in a way that could harm other users.

6. Intellectual Property

Our Rights

Notana and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your Content

You retain all rights to your images and artwork. We claim no ownership over any content you process using Notana.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error‑free.
  • The results obtained from the Service will be accurate.
  • Any errors will be corrected.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Service.
  • Your violation of these Terms.
  • Your violation of any third‑party rights.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the “Last Updated” date and, for significant changes, by email notification.

Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these Terms. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
  • You may request export of your data before account deletion.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which we operate, without regard to conflict of law principles.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
